Uxbridge offers a blend of natural beauty, small town charm, and community spirit. It provides a peaceful setting for residents while still maintaining a close proximity to the amenities of the greater Toronto area. Uxbridge is located approximately 67 kilometres northeast of Toronto.

The town is situated in the rolling hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine offering picturesque landscapes and numerous outdoor recreation opportunities. The region is dotted with forests, farmlands, lakes, and miles of trails making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Uxbridge regional forests consist of several individual forested areas each with its own unique characteristics and vast trail systems. Some of the main forests within the network include Glen Major Forest, Walker Woods, Durham Regional Forest, and Oak Ridge Corridor Conservation Reserve. This expansive system of forests and trails provides opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, nature exploration and wildlife observation, cross country skiing and horseback riding. The Trans Canada trail traverses through the forest providing opportunities for long distance hikes or bike rides. Uxbridge has several parks and green spaces that provide opportunities for picnicking, playing sports, and enjoying nature. Elgin Park, Bonner Fields and Elgin Pond are among the popular parks in town.

Uxbridge offers a wide range of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The town's natural surroundings, parks and facilities provide options for outdoor activities, sports and leisure pursuits. In addition to the forests and trails Uxbridge is home to the Uxbridge Pump Track and Skate Park which is a popular destination for skateboarders, inline skaters, and BMX riders. The park features ramps, rails and other obstacles for various skill levels, providing a space for riders to practice their tricks and enjoy their sport. Uxbridge has also recently added a multi-sport court in the Bonner Fields park. This court is a popular destination for pickle-ball and basketball enthusiasts. The local arena is home to many hockey leagues for all ages and skating programs and is adjacent to a splash pad, lawn bowling and tennis courts. Uxpool is an indoor pool and recreation centre that provides many leisure and fitness opportunities for all ages.

One of the notable features of Uxbridge is its historic downtown area. The downtown core is home to a variety of local shops, restaurants, and cafes, creating a charming and welcoming atmosphere. The town also hosts several community events and festivals throughout the year which contribute to its lively and tight knit community spirit.
